Lombard/Conrad Names Two New Shareholders
BOISE, Idaho – Lombard/Conrad has announced two additions to its shareholder group: Aurora Riopelle, NCARB, promoted from Associate Principal to Principal, and Katherine Flume (formerly Katherine Johnson), Director of Marketing & Business Development.
The announcement reflects Lombard/Conrad’s continued commitment to intentional growth, a multidisciplinary leadership team, and a future shaped by those who deeply understand the firm’s mission: enriching and inspiring the human spirit through architecture in public spaces.
“These additions reflect the kind of leadership we want for Lombard/Conrad’s future,” said Alexis Townsend, President of Lombard/Conrad. “Aurora and Katherine bring very different strengths, but they share a deep commitment to our clients, our people, and the communities we serve. They understand what is important about this firm and will help us build on that foundation thoughtfully.”
About Riopelle
Riopelle’s promotion to Principal recognizes her position as one of the region’s leading healthcare architecture experts. With a 15-year career dedicated to complex healthcare environments, Riopelle has guided projects ranging from small clinic renovations and specialty care suites to large outpatient facilities and hospitals, delivering everything from facility assessments and equipment modernization to major expansions and new construction. This breadth of experience has given her a deep understanding of the systems, standards, and human experiences that shape successful healthcare spaces. She is currently completing the process to become a Certified Healthcare Architect, a credential that will place her among a select group of architects in Idaho with this specialized expertise.
“Aurora brings both technical expertise and genuine empathy to her work,” said Townsend. “She listens carefully, takes the time to understand how our clients operate, and recognizes the priorities that shape their decisions. Healthcare clients trust her because she understands both the complexity of their work and the people their facilities are meant to support. She has earned this leadership role.”
Riopelle’s long-standing partnership with organizations like Saint Alphonsus Health System reflects her commitment to creating environments that support the people providing care – and the communities depending on it. More about Riopelle here.
About Flume
Flume’s addition to the shareholder group recognizes the expanding role of strategy, storytelling, and business development in the future of architecture firms. As Marketing & Business Development Director, she has helped shape Lombard/Conrad’s brand evolution and strengthen industry partnerships, positioning the firm for continued growth across Idaho and the greater Northwest.
While a marketing professional and brand strategist by trade, Flume carries a deep appreciation for public architecture and the people behind it. Her leadership is rooted in this appreciation, driving her to support the firm’s team, champion its work, and build authentic relationships throughout the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
“Public architecture holds a unique responsibility because the work lasts far beyond any one of us,” said Flume. “I feel that same responsibility toward Lombard/Conrad’s brand and legacy. My role is to protect what people already trust about this firm while helping us evolve and grow in new ways so we can continue creating high-impact public buildings.” More about Flume here.
