Elko Convention Center Expansion
Elko, Nevada / 2015
The Elko Convention and Visitors Authority commissioned Lombard Conrad Architects to develop a program and design for a new event center adjacent to their existing Convention Center. This new event center is a 27,000 sf state-of-the-art facility capable of hosting gatherings from small group events to high school athletic tournaments. The facility is comprised of a large breakout/entry hall, three large meeting halls, six smaller conference rooms, and support facilities. Immediately below these meeting spaces is a sub-grade, 200 stall parking facility. Building siting, massing, materials, daylighting and energy efficient systems will contribute to this facilities operational efficiency. The architecture also utilizes modern forms playing off the regions mining and ranching heritage with concrete, metal wood, stone, masonry and glass building materials.
