Ada County Jail Pod D Expansion
Boise, Idaho / 2013
This project consists of an approximately 13,449 square foot, two-level, 44 cell maximum security housing unit. It is subdivided into three segregated cell pods, each with its own individual outdoor exercise enclosure. It contains visiting, medical, meeting, and staff support spaces and one control room with direct observation into each cell pod. This unit houses the highest classification level of inmate held within the facility.
The project’s placement presented numerous challenges, as it is an infill project situated within an existing secure enclosure area, surrounded by an inmate movement corridor on one side and an existing housing unit on the other. These challenges were overcome handily and the project completed without setbacks, due in large part to Lombard Conrad’s experience and exceptional planning.
