Interior Design Associate

Location: Boise, Idaho (on site)
Position Type: Full-Time (40+ hours/week)

Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Interior Design Associate to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with less than three years of experience who are eager to grow in the interior design industry. You’ll work under the guidance of experienced designers and be involved in a variety of project phases, gaining exposure to both design and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior designers in developing design solutions and support the team with construction documentation and drawing set production.
  • Research and select colors, finishes, and materials that align with project goals and client expectations.
  • Maintain and organize the in-house design library to ensure efficient access to current materials and resources for the design team.
  • Perform site surveys, assist with project documentation, and conduct routine verification tasks and quality checks.
  • Apply established interior design standards to project work.
  • Supports business development activities through assistance with aids such as finish boards or presentations.
  • Learn and utilize computer-aided drawing software, presentation tools, and office software including, Revit, Lumion, Enscape, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), etc.
  • Gain exposure to interior design specifications, detail documentation, and industry standards, while developing an understanding of building codes, ADAAG, and ANSI requirements as they relate to interior.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Interior Design or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Less than three years of professional (internships count!).
  • Strong interest in materials research, space planning, color theory, and sustainable design for our commercial space sectors (Education, Healthcare, Civic, Justice, and Commercial).
  • Basic proficiency in CAD software; experience with Revit or SketchUp a plus.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative design environment.
