Lombard Conrad Architects was charged with the design and implementation of a new generation of medical clinics for Saint Alphonsus Health System and Saint Alphonsus Medical Group.
The new facilities were charged with four specific goals:
- Provide convenient and readily available access to healthcare in within the community.
- Improve the patient experience from entrance to exit.
- Improve staff communications and efficiency through flow modeling
- (LEAN approach).
- Create an iconic facility which reinforces the brand identity of Saint Alphonsus Medical Group.The new facilities were to create an identifiable brand which blended into the fabric of the community, but stood apart as a recognizably distinct.The first of these projects, located in Bown Crossing, Boise, Idaho, provided a unique opportunity to site the facility between the retail center, school and future public library. A constrained site, the building and parking are tightly arranged to maximize parking and access for both pedestrians and automobiles.
The exterior materials palette was chosen to reflect those currently utilized on the main hospital campus and at other clinic locations.
