Aurora Riopelle

Aurora’s passion for architecture began at a remarkably young age. While in diapers, she would hand nails to her dad as he refinished the floors of their beautiful American Foursquare home in Central New York. The years that followed were filled with awe-inspiring visits to her hometown’s art museum, a building designed by famed architect Philip Johnson, and walks along the historic, architecturally diverse Rutgers Street. By third grade, Aurora knew she was going to be an architect.

What she didn’t know was that her passion would lead her into the complex, critically important world of healthcare design. From her first projects remodeling an ICU atrium and a pediatrics clinic to leading the design of hospitals and medical office buildings today, Aurora has become one of the region’s leading healthcare architects. While the technical complexity of healthcare design continues to challenge and inspire her, it’s the opportunity to create environments that improve care for patients, support caregivers, and strengthen communities that drives her work every day.

As Aurora continues to expand her leadership within the firm, she is also pursuing her certification through the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA)—a distinction earned by a select group of healthcare architects who demonstrate advanced expertise and a commitment to excellence in the planning and design of healthcare environments.
